The State of Arkansas, a folk song:

My name is Charlie Brennan,
From Charleston I come.
I’ve travel’d this wide world over,
Some ups and downs I’ve had.
I’ve travel’d this wide world over,
Some ups and downs I’ve saw,
But I never knew what mis’ry was
Till I hit old Arkansas.

Variant of this song was performed by the Almanac Singers, and the song can be found on the album “Songs of Protest”.

This is bumming me out.  After, what, two years, I thought we have a new Madvillain album and it’s just a Madlib remix.  No disrespect to Madlib, but I need some Doom, man.

The above video: All Caps, from the most ingenious album, Madvillainy.  This is real music, people.

A clip from The Long Winters, “The Commander Thinks Aloud.” I liked this song right away, before knowing what the lyrics are about. And then, when I found out, well, let’s just say that it’s a beautiful tribute to the Columbia space shuttle tragedy.
