Gorgeous illustration by felix sockwell, who also illustrated the (gorgeous) cover for Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall (the music is not so hot…  for a good Monk + Coltrane, I’d recommend Thelonious Monk With John Coltrane).  Why is it that jazz albums have such unimaginative names?
